Jayson Werth is put on disabled list, T.J. Bohn is recalled from Triple-A.
Werth was out of the lineup Friday, a day after suffering the injury.
The Phillies announced they were recalling outfielder T.J. Bohn from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to replace Werth.
It’s Bohn’s second recall. He appeared in seven games and had one hit in three official plate appearances in his earlier stint with the Phils.
Werth has started 21 games in center field and nine in right. He’s hitting .260 and is fourth on the team in both home runs with nine and RBIs with 26. (H/T Phillies.com)
Groan. I knew this was going to happen as soon as I heard that he was being taken out of Thursday’s night game because of that bad swing at the plate while listening to the game on the radio. At least they’re doing it a lot more quickly with him then they did with Jimmy Rollins back in April. Hopefully he won’t have any lingering problems when he comes off the disabled list, since they’re going to need his bat back.
