Christmas is almost upon us.

Well, Christmas is almost here. Anyway, I’m going to keep this short.

A very Merry Christmas to everyone out there who reads my blog.

As for my Christmas wish? Please, as if there would be any doubt. My Phils doing a threepeat as the NL Eastern Division Champs next year, as well as repeating as the NL and World Series Champs.

Yeah, yeah, I know, I know, there’s already rumblings coming from New York City that either the Yankees or the Mets are going to do it next year, thanks to whom they have just gotten because of their money, but, I going to just sit back and let the players decide things on the field and not listen to folks who just might, when things are all said and done, be getting out the salt and pepper shakers and the codiments packets and getting ready to eat their words if they end up being wrong.

Anyway, once more Merry Christmas every one.

I think the Phillies and Mets both have a really strong chance at winning the NL East title. Good thing the Phillies still have the same team that won the World Series (after all those rain delays too!). Happy Holidays!

That’s the reason why I’m going to let the players decide things on the baseball field. The Phils still have the majority of the players that won it all this past October, but at least now they have some insurance policies in the minors, pitching-wise and will probably trade for a right handed bat to come off of the bench to compliment Greg Dobbs. And while the Mets have strengthen their set-up man and their closer in the bullpen, they still have the rest of the imploding bullpen from the last two years. If I was a Mets fan, I’d still worry about innings 5-7 before even thinking about the last two innings of a ballgame. As I’d said, I’m going to let the players decide things during the ’09 season.
And, Merry Christmas to you too.

I have to agree with Elizabeth – the Phillies and Mets should be very strong next year! I hope you had a great Christmas!

On the Phils and the Mets, yes, they are obviously the strongest teams in the division at the point, with the Marlins come on their heals, while the Braves continue to fade and the Nationals try to find out what they need to do to become a divisional threat. It will be an interesting see if the Phils’ bats, gloves and pitching arms will be better than the Mets to allow them to perform a threepeat in the East.
Yes, it was a nice Christmas. Hope it was the same for you.

Hey, nice blog! Merry Christmas!

To We Should Be GM, you’re welcome on the link and thanks for the link back. Really appreciated.

To Rockymountainway, thanks for the comment. I certainly hope Lidge remains as successful as he is now, but I don’t really expect him to catch the lightening again. I’ll just be happy if he can convert 90-95% of his save attempts while he’s still wearing the pinstripes. And, yes, he is an important asset to the Phils.
