The Phils lose another game at home as they drop one to the Rockies, 6-2.

The Rockies took the lead in the top of the fourth as, with runners on the corners, and with nobody out, Troy Tulowitzki hits a sacrifice fly to right, knocking in Drew Stubbs, who had started the inning off with a single, stole second base, then stopped at third base on DJ LeMahieu’s single, giving the Rockies a 1-0 lead. The Phils would tie the game up at one-all in their half of the fourth as, with one man out, Darin Ruf hits a solo home run, his first home run of the season. The Rockies regain the lead in the top of the seventh as, with two men on, and with two men out, Wilin Rosario hits a three-run home run, his fifth home run of the season, knocking in Corey Dickerson, who had earlier walked, then moved up to second base on Michael Cuddyer’s walk, and Cuddyer, who had earlier walked, giving the Rockies a 4-1 lead. The Phils would get a run back in their half of the seventh as, with one man out, Ben Revere hits a solo home run, his first home run of the season, and the first home run of his career, making it a 4-2 Rockies’ lead. The Rockies got that run back in the top of the eighth as, with a runner on third, and with nobody out, Stubbs hits an RBI double, scoring Josh Rutledge, who had started the inning off with a triple, giving the Rockies a 5-2 lead. The Rockies added to their lead three batters later as, with runners on the corners, and with one man out, Brandon Barnes hits into an RBI ground out, 6-4, wiping out at second base Tulowitzki, who had earlier been intentionally walked, for the inning’s second out, as Rutledge, who had earlier moved up to third base on LeMahieu’s ground out, 4-3, scored, giving the Rockies a 6-2 lead. That would end up being the final score as LaTroy Hawkins pitched a scoreless ninth, striking out Chase Utley, looking, for the game’s final out.

Cole Hamels (1-3, 4.43) took the lost as he pitched seven innings, giving up four runs on three hits and two walks, as he struck out four. Jeff Manship pitched a third of an inning, giving up two runs on two hits and a walk. Mario Hollands pitched two-thirds of an inning, giving up a hit, while striking out a batter. Justin De Fratus pitched a scoreless inning, as he hit a batter. Jorge De La Rosa (6-3, 3,66) got the win as he went six innings, giving up a run on six hits and two walks, while striking out four. Boone Logan received his seventh hold of the season as he pitched two-thirds of an inning, giving up a run on two hits, while striking out a batter. Adam Ottavino collected his eleventh hold of the year as he pitched an inning and a third, giving up a walk and hitting a batter, while striking out one. LaTroy Hawkins pitched a scoreless inning, giving up a walk, while striking out one.

The Phils had eight hits in the game, with Carlos Ruiz leading the team with two hits, both singles. Ben Revere (Home Run, RBI), Chase Utley (Single), Darin Ruf (Home Run, RBI), John Mayberry, Jr. (Single),  Cesar Hernandez (Single) and Cole Hamels (Single) had the other six Phils’ hits. The Phils also had four walks (Jimmy Rollins, Mayberry, Ruiz, Reid Brignac) and a hit batter (Ruiz) in the game.

The Phils (22-27, 5th NL East) will conclude their series with the Rockies (28-24, 3rd NL West) with a night game tonight. The game will be played at Citizens Bank Park and is to start at 7:05 pm EDT. The Phils will send to the mound Roberto Hernandez (2-2, 3.83), who is coming off a lost against the Dodgers on May 23, as he pitched six and a third-innings, giving up two runs on seven hits and four walks, while striking out three, in the Phils’ 2-0 lost. He will be trying to pitch the Phils into a series win. The Rockies will send to the mound Jordan Lyles (5-1, 3.45), who is coming off a no-decision against the Braves on May 23, as he pitched six innings, giving up two runs on six hits and a walk, while striking out six, in the Rockies’ 3-2 lost. He’ll be going for his sixth win of the year. The Phils will be going for the series win.
