That would end up being the final score as Dan Uggla grounds out softly, 5-3, for the game’s final out.

Cole Hamels (5-13, 3.65) got the win as he threw a complete game, giving up just one run on six scattered hits and a walk, while striking out nine. Julio Teheran (9-6, 3.08) took the lost as he pitched six innings, giving up four runs on six hits, a walk and a hit batter, while striking out six. Luis Ayala and Scott Downs combined for two scoreless innings, giving up a walk (Ayala) between them, while striking out a batter (Downs). Anthony Varvaro pitched an inning, giving up a run on two hits, while striking out a batter.

The Phils had eight hits in the game, with Jimmy Rollins (Single, Double, RBI), Chase Utley (Singles) and Cody Asche (Single, Home Run, 3 RBIs), all leading the team with three hits each. Carlos Ruiz (Single, RBI) and Cole Hamels (Triple) had the other two Phils’ hits. The Phils also had two walks (Dom Brown, Hamels), a hit batter (Darin Ruf), a stolen base (Asche (1)) and a sacrifice bunt (Hamels) in the game.

The Phils (53-65, 4th) continue their series with the Braves (72-47, 1st) with a night game tonight. The game is to start at 7:10 pm EDT and is to be played at Turner Field. The Phils will sent to the mound Ethan Martin (1-1, 6.75) who is coming off his first career win against the Cubs on August 8, as he threw five innings, giving up a run on four hits and a walk, while striking out four, in the Phils’ 12-1 rout. He will be going for his second straight victory. The Braves will counter with Kris Medlen (9-10, 3.85) who is coming off a victory against the Nationals on August 7, as he went seven innings, giving up three runs on three hits and a walk, while he struck out six, in the Braves’ 6-3 win. He will be going for his tenth straight win. The Phils will be going for both the series win, and their second straight win on the road.
