The Phils then took a 7-0 lead one batter later as Howard hits a two-run single, scoring both Rollins and Utley. The Phils then made it a 9-0 lead two batters later as, with one man on, and now with two men out, pinch-hitter John Mayberry, Jr. hits a two-run home run, his second home run of the year, scoring Howard. That would end up being the final score as Justin De Fratus pitched a 1-2-3 ninth, getting Corey Dickerson to fly out to center for the game’s final out.
Kyle Kendrick (1-5, 4.04) got the win as he pitched six and two-thirds shutout innings, giving up six hits, four walks and a wild pitch, while striking out two.
